DS-AGEING comes to a successful end.

On the 29th of October 2020, the fifth and final meeting of the European Project DS-AGEING took place virtually.

DS AGEING is funded by the European Commission within the ERASMUS+ 2018 Programme, Strategic Partnerships for Adult Education.

The Research Institute on Social Welfare Policy (POLIBIENESTAR) organized the final transnational management meeting and all the members of the DS-AGEING consortium attended it.

The fight for a long and healthy life can start with the DS-AGEING training program. Many studies, starting in recent years try to solve the arithmetic of well ageing in individuals with Down syndrome especially that some of them reach age over 70. Physical health skills training and healthy ageing strategy should ideally start in childhood and take a lifelong perspective.

Validation actions on board!

In the framework of the DS-AGEING project - Development of a training program for improving the well-ageing of persons with Down syndrome - ALDO-CET has started the validation process of the training activities developed within this European Project.

Co-validation sessions with end-users in all partner’s country

Last week it has been carried out sessions where people with Down syndrome, relatives/caregivers and professionals were asked for their opinion about the training program and the e-training platform that it is being developed under the DS-AGEING project. Specifically, in those sessions were presented contents, materials/tools and methodology as well as first specifications of how will look like the DS-AGEING e-training platform. These sessions took place in Valencia (Spain), Ljubljana (Slovenia), Thessaloniki (Greece), Băilești (Romania) and Lisbon (Portugal).

Half-way review DS-AGEING, a project about active ageing in people with Down syndrome

The DS-AGEING project began in November 2018 and almost one year after, the first stage of the project is completed. This stage, consisting of the development of joint creation sessions with end users (people with Down syndrome, family members, caregivers, and professionals), has established the basis for the proper development of the later phases of the project, which are the design of the training program and the design of a e-training platform where the created materials will be found.

Polibienestar leads DS-AGEING, a European project to promote active ageing in people with Down syndrome

During the next two years Polibienestar will lead the European project funded by the Erasmus + program. The project will be developed by a consortium composed by 7 partners from 5 European countries: Polibienestar and Asindown from Valencia; APPT21 from Lisbon, Portugal; AUTH from Thessaloniki, Greece; ALDO-CET from Bailesti, Romania; and SPOMINCICA and DDSS from Ljubljana, Slovenia.
